Emergency Money

Are you in a real pinch to raise some money? Here are a few ideas that could put some extra change in your pocket fairly quick.
Garage Sale
Go around your house and set aside all the things that you no longer use or need. Sort them into categories:
Clothing, toys, electronics, exercise equipment and tapes, movies, music and so on...
While you are sorting your items, clean them up a bit making sure they are free of dust and dirt.
Go through and with your notebook take inventory of what you have gathered. Grab some blank stickers and price each item. Be sure not to overprice the things you are selling. Think about how much you would pay for that item at a garage sale. If the price is too high, people will not buy from you.
Choose a day when you'd like to have the garage sale and put an ad in your local paper, post signs around town about your sale.
Set up your sale in an orderly fashion. If all of your things are cluttered, it's harder for people to browse.
A garage sale could bring in a nice amount of money depending on the items you are selling.
Whatever is left over after the first day of the sale, put out your items for half price the following day. After that--if you still have items left over, pack up those things and take them to your local charity. Ask if you can get a receipt so you can deduct this from your taxes.
Ebay
If you don't want to have a garage sale or there were certain valuable items you have and want a better price for--try Ebay. There is a lot of money to be made with this form of selling and if you do it right, you might have found yourself a full time at home business!
Call Your Local Auction House
Many times an auction house will send people to come out and appraise the value of what you have to sell; things like, furniture, electronics, antiques and jewelry. If you have things you want to sell and want an easy way to do this, an auction house might be a good idea!
